Carly Belford lives and works in Toronto ON.  She received her BFA in Painting and Drawing from Concordia University in 2012 and holds an MFA degree from NSCAD University, having graduated the spring of 2017.  As a painter, she finds value in combining references and imagery that do not fit neatly with each other, searching for new meaning in familiar places.  Her recent work is focused on a re-engagement with the history of painting, which she forwards as a material for re-translation.  She is an Elizabeth Greensheild Foundation grant recipient and her work is held in private collections in Toronto, Montreal and Halifax.  She is represented by Sivarulrasa gallery in Almonte ON.
